THERE IS STILL TIME TO GET A 1:16 SCALE VERSION OF THE RARE AND BEAUTIFUL INDUSTRIAL “620”STANDARD TRACTOR! John Deere officially returned to building Industrial Tractors at its giant Waterloo, Iowa, factory with the “20” Series, the first time since discontinuing the Models “AI”, “BI”, and “DI” in 1941. With an open mind, receptive to building virtually any of the “20” Series Tractors into Industrials to be sold through its new Industrial Equipment Division, they quickly discovered that most customers wanted Standards. Of the three sizes available (“620”, “720”, and “820”), the smallest of them, the “620” was the least popular. This was determined to be for two reasons: The “620” was not available as a diesel; and it was neither capable of handling large equipment, nor was it small enough (as were with Dubuque offerings) to maneuver well in tight urban projects. As a result, the Industrial “620” Standard Tractor stands as the rarest of the three, and this highly detailed, low-production toy faithfully captures the look of the originals. Only a handful of tractor collectors will ever be able to own the “real McCoy,” and a relatively small number of John Deere Toy collectors will be able to own what will be among the lowest production numbers of all Ertl-built toys. Many collectors have been waiting for a photo before ordering. Well, here it is, but now the Industrial “620” Toy is over 80% sold out!
