Domestic production of John Deere Two-Cylinder Tractors ended in 1960 to make room for the New Generation. The tooling for the “730” Diesel was shipped to a new factory at Rosario, Argentina, and the row-crop, standard, and Hi-Crop Tractors continued to be built for another decade. Argentina did not consistently continue the use of yellow graphics on the sides of the hood and grille. Consequently, the “all-green” tractors of Argentina had a distinct appearance.

For 2011, marking 50 years since the transfer of production to Argentina, Ertl has created a splendid 1:16 scale toy of the “730” Hi-Crop. Details are outstanding; quantity is limited.
